Triggered by a certain occasion, I’ve recently started jogging.
After putting my older child to bed, I usually go out around 9:30 p.m. and jog slowly for about an hour.
After that, I either do some online English conversation practice or get some work done, and then go to bed around 1 a.m.
At first, I used to listen to podcasts while running, but these days I just run in silence, letting my mind wander.
When I think about it, in daily life there aren’t many chances to spend a full hour purely absorbed in thought. During these runs, I can finally tackle problems I had been putting off, thinking “I’ll get around to it when I have time,” or come up with good ideas for issues I had been struggling with. On top of that, it’s simply healthy. Altogether, there are so many benefits that I’m really glad I started this habit.
I recommend it to you, too.
